COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS
5.3 ORGANIZATION’S COMMENT
Overall, there is
not much to say about this company. This is because even if the company has
some disadvantages, but the company is able to overcome problems with the
efficiency and skill set from employees in each of their jobs. But for the long-term,
these issues need to be addressed in order for the company to remain
competitive and to be the best for Sabah state. Among the problems that need to
be solved is:
i. Labor Shortages
Labor shortages are
one of the biggest factors because if the employees are not enough, the
organization will not go far. Every client needs to be treated nicely and good
service especially the employee in the ‘front office’ and general employees.
If there are not enough employees, then they won’t be able to give the best
service to the client. An employee from the outside workforce is also lacking
and this will cause the customer’s need or request to be ready for the day to
be delayed. It is not impossible for a customer to feel angry if the service
that has been given is less satisfying. The most important thing when dealing
with customers is time.
ii. Allowance/Salary payment delay
To please everyone
is not that easy, but I do think that a job done must be based on the profit
that the company earns. I believe that the company has an outstanding profit
every month because it has received so much from big companies such as
government projects and private project sectors for tender documents,
maintenance/repair project etc. relating to the construction projects.
However, when the time comes to pay their
salaries, the manager seems to be paying little attention to the employees. The
employees still can understand the manager if the payment for their salaries is
delayed for 2 to 3 days. But sometimes the payment salary for the employees is
on-time or early for 2 days if the company earned better profit. If the payment
salaries are delayed for 2 weeks, then action must be taken because there are
employees that their life is hard, and they only depend on their salaries
earned. If the payment salaries are delayed, maybe there are important things
that they will miss, such as paying bills, etc.
5.4 ORGANIZATION’S SUGGESTION
Increasing the
employees in the civil engineering and admin department so that the problem can
be overcome and able to give faster service and completion of work before this.
This will make the company more viable and grow.
Paying salaries or allowance to
employees right on-time always so that the employees will feel more excited and
prepared to do their job more confidence. It can also overcome their problems not
to worry about paying the bills late, and doesn’t give a headache to them.
Even though the employee has skills
that they learned, however there are also benefits if the company able to send
the employee to attend course to gain more knowledge and skills to obtain more
skills when working after the completion of the course.
